Fork Extension Sleeve
1. What fork extensions are, and what they can be used for.
1.1 What are fork extensions?
Designed to slip over the existing truck forks, fork extensions are a metal sleeve that provides a safe, economical and convenient way of temporally increasing the length of the existing truck forks. Fork extensions also negate the need to have longer forks fitted to the lift truck, which, being a more permanent fixture, can sometimes cause possible issues with the fork trucks turning circle and general usability when considered over a wide range of applications
Normal method of practice for securing the extensions to the truck forks, would either be via removable heel pins or fixed retaining bars. Once fitted, the fork extensions are then locked in place behind the fork heel for safe and secure fitment.
1.2 How should fork extensions be used?
Fork extensions should be looked at as a load stabilising device, as opposed to a lifting device, such as that of a pair of solid forks. The job of the fork extension, with their increased length, is to help provide stability to the load being handled. It is important to ensure that correct load distribution between the fork extension and the solid fork is achieved, and to make sure that the centre point of the load being handled is supported by the original truck fork.
You can increase your fork length by 66%
(Fork Length x 1.66 = Fork Extension Length)
